DETAILS ABOUT ANNIE’S CARDMAKER KIT

Annie’s Kit Clubs offers lots of different crafting kits. Right now you can get kits in the following crafting areas: yarn, crochet, knitting, kids crafts, general crafts, quilting/sewing, jewelry, fabric and CARDMAKING. I love making cards and have been trying out different monthly kits. So I ordered Annie’s Cardmaking Kit.

The cost of the kit is $22.99 plus shipping. The company had a special going when I ordered and I got my first kit for 1/2 price.

The card kits have supplies and directions to make 8-10 cards. You get a different kit each month.

The kits are rated for beginners. There are several different kits shown on their website, but you may not get one of those kits. They are examples of kits they have had.

The first kit comes with a special gift. It is a cute pencil type bag that says CREATE. Inside is an acrylic block for the stamps, a bone folder and a piercing stylus.

HONEST ANNIE’S CARDMAKER KIT CLUB REVIEW

I received the Birthday Shaker kit and honestly LOVED it. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love shaker cards. This kit was right up my alley because I enjoy making shaker cards and I like having lots of birthday cards on hand.

Here are my thoughts on the kit:

• The kit was designed to make 8 cards–two of each design. There was a very nice colored instruction booklet that gave detailed directions on how to make each of the four designs. I really liked the instruction booklet. Although I am an experienced cardmaker, I like following directions when it comes to kits, LOL.
• The birthday cards all turned out perfectly and are adorable and look like really nice quality cards. They were easy to make too.
• The only drawback to the birthday cards is that they all feel very feminine to me. It would have been nice to have half the cards be more masculine.
• The kit included a generic clear birthday-themed stamp set that I didn’t need to use for the cards. The stamp set felt kind of cheap to me and I am not sure if it will get used.
• Envelopes are included in the kit and that is always nice.
• There were extra supplies left after I completed the 8 cards. So I used the supplies and made SIX more cards! I will note that I had to use my own card bases. But the other items were just leftovers from the kit.
• I got a total of 14 cards out of this kit and that is an AMAZING deal for the low-cost of the kit.

CARDS I MADE WITH EXTRA SUPPLIES

Here are the cards I made with the extra supplies in the kit. I made three different designs, two of each design.

The first design was a simple card featuring three banners and some twine tied to the side of the card.

The second design features a shaker element that says celebrate. There are two hanging banners along the top.

The third design also utilizes long banners layered on top of each other in different lengths. There is a small tag at the top that is tied with a twine bow.

CARDMAKER KIT CLUB MONTH TWO

The second month when I got my kit I was not nearly as happy with kit. My second kit was called Simply Sweet Greetings. The cards are all made with the main supply item being washi tape. I don’t typically use washi tape on cards because I am not confident it will stay stuck to the card.

I felt like the card designs were much less elegant and the quality didn’t look as good because of the washi tape. There was one card design I liked and I did make 2 of that design. I may actually make 6 more of that design with different stamped sentiments.

Something I did like about this kit was that the card bases were made out of colored cardstock. There was also some gold foil cardstock included that was really pretty.

IS ANNIE’S CARDMAKER KIT CLUB WORTH IT?

Overall Annie’s cardmaker kit club is definitely worth the money. The kit club is priced very competitively and is much lower than other clubs I have tried. The cards are quick and easy to make.

I did end up cancelling the kit club after the second month. My main reason for cancelling was because I am trying out different kits, but can’t keep them all long-term.

There is a good chance I will sign back up for this one in the future. I do wish they offered a kit preview that you could opt out of for the month if you didn’t care for the kit.

WHY I LOVE QUEEN & CO. CARD KITS

I love Queen & Co. card kits (just ask my husband, lol). They are SO stinkin’ cute that I cannot resist most of them. Over the years, I have accumulated a lot of kits.

The kits come with lots of goodies. I usually also order extra sets of the foam refills for the shakers. You don’t know how long the kit will be available so I stock up on refills while I can.

The main reason I love these kits is that I just love shaker cards. They make me happy!

Last year, I knew I needed a better setup for my card kits than just keeping them in the plastic bag they came in.

HOW TO ORGANIZE QUEEN & CO. CARD KITS

I have a big pegboard behind the door of my craft room. The upper section wasn’t being used, so I decided it would be a good place for the kits. I do have to use a stool to reach these kits, but I don’t use them daily, so it isn’t a problem for me.

I ordered some A4-sized mesh zippered pouches. These are the perfect size to hold everything in the kits.

Now I use my label maker and label the kit on the outside of the zippered pouch.

Then, I bought some magnet sheets from Anna Griffin. These are the 8.5×11 size that fit in her Die Binders. These are the strongest magnetic sheets I have found and they work so well. They also fit into the zippered pouch.

I put all the dies onto the magnet sheet.

I slide everything into the zippered pouch and place the kit info sheet in the front so it is easy to see which kit is inside.

Believe me, there is nothing extraordinary about this craft organizational method. But it is very effective. When I go to a crop I can just grab the kit bags that I want to work on and be on my way.

STAMPS OF LIFE CARD KIT CLUB

I came across the Stamps of Life website randomly when I was looking for unique sentiment stamps. I loved their products and decided to try their monthly card kit.

The basics about their kit at the time I wrote this are:

• The card kit costs $42.98 per month and ships for free. The price goes down $37.88 if you are a member of more than one of their monthly kits. The kit’s value is $86.00. That sounds pretty good to me!
• There are supplies in the box to make a minimum of 12 cards.
• Their kit club members get other perks like 15% off other website purchases, free gifts a few times a year, and a $25 gift card on your one-year anniversary of club membership!

WHAT IS IN THE CARD KIT?

I feel like the card kit is packed with goodness. Here is a basic list of what’s included:

• One large storage envelope
• 12 sheets of 8.5″x11″ cardstock (it is good quality too!)
• 12 A2 size envelopes
• One 6×6 inch paper pad. The paper coordinates with the Stamp & Die Club (yes I am a member of this club too)
• Ribbon
• Embellishments
• A word die set
• 1 mini A1 card die set or a 3×4 inch stamp with coordinating dies
• There is a postcard with some card inspiration on it.
• They also have a video each month that includes the unboxing and the owner creating a card with the kit.
• You can go to their gallery for more kit ideas and inspiration
• Please note that in the photo below I included the stamp and die set too from the Die Hard club.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH STAMPS OF LIFE CARD KIT CLUB

I initially signed up for the Stamps of Life Card Kit Club when I saw their January 2024 kit. It was so adorable that I couldn’t resist! I will tell you that I also signed up for the Die Hard Club because it includes a stamp set and die set that go perfectly with the card kit club.

Being a member of both of these kits gives me the supplies to make endless cards!! Yes, I will have to use my own cardstock once I run out of the cardstock supplied in the kit. But, let’s face it….most scrapbookers and card-makers have cardstock for miles.

The paper pad included is thick and goes a long way, especially since it is double-sided. I feel like the kits are unique and adorable. Another nice thing is that there are usually extra stamp and die sets that go along with the kit that you can add on. I do this when it is a kit I think I will use a lot.

I have found the customer service to be very good with Stamps of Life.

BASIC INFO ABOUT SIMON SAYS STAMP MONTHLY CARD KIT

Let’s start with the basics of how the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit works.

SIMON SAYS STAMP LOVE STORY CARD KIT JAN 2024

The first month I signed up for this card kit subscription was in January, 2024. I get emails from SSS and they showed the kit in the email. I fell in love with the kit and ordered it immediately.

This kit was packed with so many awesome supplies. My absolutely favorite part of the kit was the interactive die cuts for the typewriter and the Polaroid camera. I LOVE vintage, and this kit fits the bill. There is actually an opening so you can pull the Polaroid picture out of the camera, and it has a message on it! The same goes with the typewriter. You can pull the piece of paper up and out of the typewriter and it has a message on it. SO MUCH FUN!

I made many cards with the kit and still have supplies to make more. The pictures in this post are the cards I made with this Love Story Kit from Simon Says Stamp.

MY REVIEW OF SIMON SAYS STAMP MONTHLY CARD KIT
