One of my new favorite card-making shops is Pretty Pink Posh. They have such cute stamp sets and accessories. This is where I bought the set to make these sweet Dinosaur Christmas Cards.

DINOSAUR CHRISTMAS CARDS

When I make cards from a specific set, I like to stamp the images multiple times and do all my coloring at the same time.

I love how each dinosaur has a Christmas theme, whether it is a Santa hat, scarf, or even Christmas lights. This brings the Christmas cheer to every stamped image.

I decided to color my dinosaurs all sorts of fun and bright colors. Don’t feel limited to only Christmas colors. I did keep some red/green on each card to bring in the colors from the Christmas paper.

Some of the sentiments were stamped directly onto the card, and some were stamped onto a piece that was die-cut and added to the card.

This stamp set only came with one sentiment: Merry Rex-Mas. You could always use Christmas-themed sentiments from other stamp sets you may have on hand. I loved the sentiment included and used it for each card I made.

I added some bling embellishments to the cards to make them pop!

The stamp sets from Pretty Pink Posh are photopolymer clear stamps and are great quality stamps.

The card right above this paragraph is a design that I saw on the Pretty Pink Posh website in their gallery. I scrap-lifted the design because I liked how many dinosaurs were added to the card.

The stamp set included some small stamps, such as the holly leaves shown above. There is also a tiny star stamp and some leaves and berries.

HOW TO KNOW WHAT GIFTS A SCRAPBOOKER WOULD WANT?

I am an avid scrapbooker. Paper crafting is my favorite hobby and I spend time with a lot of other people who love paper crafting. I can honestly say that we NEVER have too many supplies! This isn’t a hobby where you feel like you have ENOUGH stuff, LOL. There are always new products coming out and we typically want them all!!

If you are unsure what kind of scrapbooking gifts to buy, the first thing to do is to check out the NEW category at any online scrapbooking store. This category will show you the latest and greatest products on the market.

Knowing what is brand new on the shelves is helpful if you aren’t sure what supplies your scrapbooking friend already owns.

Now I will mention some specific items or categories of items to help you narrow things down.

BIG TICKET GIFTS FOR SCRAPBOOKERS

If you want to buy a big-ticket item, here are some good ideas. It should be pretty easy to figure out if your recipient has one of these items because they tend to be larger and would probably be sitting out in their crafting area.

• It is always fun to get a new paper trimmer. It is a major staple in crafting. Although it may seem like there is nothing new regarding trimmers, that isn’t true. The newest trimmer from Tim Holtz is the Tonic Studios Precision Craft Trimmer. I have this trimmer and love it. It was a nice improvement over my previous trimmers.
• Glass media mats are very popular right now. They work great and are fantastic for mixed media crafts. There are different sizes available and the bigger the better. I hear a lot of crafters say they want to upgrade their mat to a glass mat.
• Die-cutting machines are another important tool for scrapbookers and card makers. If your crafter has a manual die-cutting machine like a Big Shot they may want to have an electronic machine like a Gemini. There are several different Gemini machines that allow for cutting different sizes of paper. I have the Gemini Jr., and it has been a life-saver. There is no handle to hand crank, and it really saves me time and energy. Gemini also has larger machines like the Gemini Pro and the Gemini II. These are more expensive machines, but they are built to last. I have had mine for years now and it gets a TON of use and is still going strong.
• Ink sets are a great gift for stampers. Ink is something that has to be restocked as it is used up. Getting a full set will really make a great gift. There are many brands of ink. Ranger Ink by Tim Holtz is very popular. Grab a Distress Oxide Ink Pad bundle and you will be set with a thoughtful gift.
• Good quality markers are expensive. These make a great gift. Paper crafters use these a lot in card-making. There are two main brands that serious papercrafters use: Copic and Spectrum Noir. If you know what brand your crafter uses, even better! A whole set of markers makes a great big ticket gift. If you want a good stocking stuffer, just give one marker.
• Some people don’t like getting gift cards, but I think it will be a hit if you get a gift certificate from an online scrapbooking store. This can be helpful if you aren’t able to snoop at what supplies your crafter already has in their crafting space.

SCRAPBOOKING GIFTS UNDER $30

If you are looking for mid-range priced gifts there are lots of things to pick from. This list gives all sorts of ideas that almost any crafter would like.

• All the scrapbook layouts we create need to go in albums. Albums fill up fast and I am always needing more albums. One thing you need to know before buying an album for a scrapbooker is knowing what style of album they use. This is as simple as looking at the albums in your home. There are 2 main styles: D ring and post-bound. Most albums are either leather or fabric. Pick fun colors and designs! Most albums run under $30 and go on sale frequently. I would never pay full price for an album, LOL. Just wait a week or two and it will go on sale.
• If the crafter in your life makes cards then chances are good they LOVE stamp and die sets. These are sets of stamps that have a matching die set and come in a bundle. They take card making to another level. If you buy recently released stamp and die sets you should be fine and not have to worry about duplicating.
• It can be hard to organize craft supplies. I know that I am always on the look-out for new organizers to make things easier to find. This desktop heat tools and accessories organizer is probably something your crafter doesn’t own, but would love to.
• Paper, paper, paper. Oh, how I love paper! I have never met a scrapbooker who didn’t adore paper. And we can never have too much. Get a big pack of paper for under $30. Be sure to get paper packs from the new category so you don’t duplicate them. Another option is to get a big pack of solid-colored paper. That is always needed, and it doesn’t matter if they already have some of the colors. They will get used eventually!

SCRAPBOOKING GIFTS FOR UNDER $15

I am giving you ideas on the low end of the price scale. Some of these would be great for a stocking, too.

• Mint tape is really helpful for crafters who do a lot of die-cutting. It holds the dies in place without leaving a sticky residue. It gets used up fast, so it’s nice to have extra rolls on hand at all times.
• Another helpful adhesive for die-cutters is Clear Double-Sided Adhesive Sheets. These sheets make it easy to die-cut tiny items.
• One of my favorite ink pads is Ranger Ink Archival Black Ink. I use this as a base for almost all of my stamping. I would always be happy to have another one of these pads. I think it is an ink brand that most card-makers would love to get.
• Embellishments are the frosting on the cake of paper crafts. We add the bling to finish off our products. It is one of my favorite categories of supplies. Go to the embellishment category and sort by newest to oldest. This will give you the latest and greatest embellishments on the market. Things like sequins, buttons, brads, chipboard and so much more will be a great low-cost gift idea.
• Blank cards and envelopes are a nice, useful gift idea for card-makers. It saves time when making cards.
