FALL PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT FOR SCRAPBOOKING

Grab your phone or camera and start documenting autumn and all the fun it can bring! Here are some photo-op ideas you may not have thought about taking a photo of, but will now!

• Close up of pumpkins at the patch or even in the store.
• Bowl of Halloween candy.
• Empty candy wrappers at the end of Halloween evening.
• Piles of leaves.
• Trees changing colors.
• A field of sunflowers.

WINTER-THEMED SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS

Personally, I love the snow. We don’t get a lot in Kansas, but some years are better than others. These layouts cover a lot of years and different ages for my kids and myself, LOL.

SLEDDING LAYOUT

I used an enlarged 8×10 inch photo for the left side of the layout. A large decorative cardstock mat was cut into 2 pieces and one piece was used on each side of the layout. The title “snow fun” was made with silver Thickers.

READY, SET, SLED SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

I loved the title “ready, set, sled” for this layout. We had gotten a lot of snow, and the hill by our house was perfect for sledding before the roads were cleared. I cut out the large title using my Cricut.

IF HUGS WERE SNOWFLAKES SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

This layout used up some scraps I had of a packet of winter-themed cardstock paper. I cut the paper into half-inch strips of different lengths for one side of the layout.

COLD NIGHT WARM HEART LAYOUT

I used some winter paper featuring gloves and snowflakes. The pictures are from Christmas, but it was a very cold year and the title seemed appropriate for the night!

SNOWFLAKE KISSES TWO-PAGE LAYOUT

I loved all the different shades of blues and navy blues in these papers. I cut different sizes of banners for one side. Added a lot of journaling to this layout.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA LAYOUT

When we were in Austria, it snowed and we had a magical evening. This winter-themed scrapbook layout features lots of different styles and sizes of snowflakes. I cut the title out on my Cricut.

WINTER IS NOT A SEASON SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

This double-page layout was actually a kit from Quick Quotes. It has some buttons and a large snowflake as embellishments. I liked that I could add a lot of photos!

FROSTY FUN LAYOUT

This Frosty Fun scrapbook layout features some very small 1-inch photos and squares on one side in a grid fashion. It was a great way to use up scraps.

SNOW BUDDIES ONE-PAGE SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

I love this picture of my husband and my youngest daughter. Her pink fur coat was one of my all-time favorite coats that my girls had over the years. I enlarged the picture to an 8×10 inch. A simple one-page layout where the photo is the focus!

SNOW ICE CREAM SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

I used some cute winter-themed paper for this snow ice cream layout. It was a fun way to end a day playing in the snow.

WHAT TO SCRAPBOOK IN SPRING

Spring starts in March and ends in June. My favorite part of spring is the longer days and more sunlight! The weather is warming up and that makes people smile and get outside.

Here are some things to consider scrapbooking that may happen during spring:

• Trips to the park
• Zoo adventures
• Easter clothes
• Easter egg hunts
• Family picnics
• Field Days at school
• Track & Field sports events
• Spring Concerts at school
• Cinco de Mayo events
• Last day of school
• End of year recitals
• Softball or Baseball
• Spring break fun

SPRING SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS AND IDEAS

As I was looking through my layouts I found some sweet spring scrapbook layouts. Some of these were created years ago! It is always fun to see how my scrapbooking changes over time.

YOU & ME SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

This simple layout features one photo inside a large circle. Part of the circle has light green lace around it. The title was made with Thickers letters. I added a small journeling box at the bottom.

EASTER EGG HUNT LAYOUT

I love this photo of my two youngest girls holding hands as they get ready to hunt Easter eggs at the park. Big sister was such a good helper. The base of the layout was pale pink cardstock. I added hot pink cardstock and green polka dot cardstock. The cute cloud and butterfly were stickers.

SMILE LAYOUT

My youngest daughter was colicky and grumpy most of the time her first year of life. It was always extra special to catch her big smile on camera! She had on the cutest hand-me-down spring outfit on.

The blue on the upper left is actually a small piece of tulle with a butterfly brad securing it. The word smile is Thickers letters. I added some sheer brown ribbon under the photo. The bottom edge was created using a border punch. I personally love the Border Maker System from Creative Memories.

EGG DAY SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

This Egg Day layout features just one photo that is matted. I added some canvas brads to the top two corners. Egg Day words were letter stickers from two different packages for some different colors and dimensions.

I recently came across a new embellishment that I love…it is a better alternative than a canvas brad…if you don’t want the hassle of the brad, but want the look of it. Scrappin Happy Studio has the cutest canvas and epoxy button flair embellishments. There are so many options and the prices are awesome!

TREE CLIMBING LAYOUT

This layout was quick and easy. It features one photo of my daughter climbing a tree. Bright spring colors of hot pink and green. The right side of the layout are patterned paper circles raised with pop dots. Small paper flowers are interspersed between the circles. The word “spring” is a chipboard word that was in an embellishment pack.

LIL’ SWINGER LAYOUT

A fun layout featuring three different photos of my daughter swinging at different parks. The words are Thickers letter stickers.

CHICKEE LAYOUT

This Easter day layout features one photo. The word “chickee” was cut on my Cricut. I added a flower for the dot over the “i”.

SLIPPER SLIDIN’ DOUBLE PAGE LAYOUT

This double page layout features a spring trip to a local zoo. The zoo has a great playground. I got pics of the kids at the top of a huge slide and knew it would make a fun layout. The title and the arrows were cut on my Cricut.

SWEET REVENGE LAYOUT

A large circle outline was cut in half. I added letter stickers to one side for the title. I added butterfly and flower embellishments.

SPRINGTIME LAYOUT

I used some springtime paper as the backgrounds for this double-page layout. Torn layers of different colored cardstock as the mats for the photos and for the title.

I added buttons to the centers of the flowers. The flowers were cut on the Cricut.

PLAYGROUND LAYOUT

A school outing to an animal farm with a playground was the basis for this double-page layout. The paper and embellishments were part of a paper collection.

EASTER PHOTOS LAYOUT

Taking pictures of the family all dressed up for church on Easter is a must-do. This layout features large banners and pretty spring-themed paper.

VINTAGE HALLOWEEN SCRAPBOOKING SUPPLIES

I am all about vintage Halloween decorations and craft supplies right now. My home decor is all up for Halloween and is featuring that adorable vintage look.

There are some really fun vintage scrapbooking supplies for sale too. I am excited to use these to create some special pages with some of my childhood Halloween photos.

I love creating free printables for scrapbookers. It helps when the scrapbook supply budget is tight.

These are free for you to download and use for your own personal use only.

I recommend printing these off on white or cream colored cardstock. Then you can use your paper trimmer to cut the cards out and use them in your fall crafting!

FALL SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS

There are so many beautiful reasons to love autumn. From bonfires to raking leaves, the photo opportunities are endless. All of these fun, fall events will make perfect scrapbook layouts.

I enjoy creating double-page layouts and am sharing six of my own personal layouts with you! These were made years ago and unfortunately, I don’t have the information on the paper and supplies used. BUT, the layout designs can be easily recreated with the supplies you already own.

PARTY TIME SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

This fall layout is all about those fun school Halloween parties. It is a double-page layout that features 6 photos of varying sizes. I used coordinating patterned paper cut to different sizes as the background for the photos. The title “party time” was made with letter stickers.

ENJOY FALL SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

I love pumpkin patch photos. It is always such a fun time. I created this layout using 1/2 inch strips of multiple pieces of patterned paper. This is a good way to use up scraps too! I made each strip different lengths and adhered them right next to each other.

I added photo mats behind each photo. Then layered some flowers with a brad in the center of each.

FALL IS IN THE AIR LAYOUT

Here is a good layout that features 6 photos. Four of the photos are horizontal 4×6 and 2 are vertical 3 1/2×5 inches. Although I don’t recall which paper and sticker collection this was…it was definitely a collection of coordinating papers and a sticker sheet.

AUTUMN SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

I love the acorn border in this fun, autumn layout. It was a layout documenting a fall day at the pumpkin patch. There is a mix of photo sizes on this double-page fall scrapbook layout.

THANKFUL SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

This was a special layout all about my daughter’s Thanksgiving class party and program. She was so sweet. The layout features 4 vertical 4×6 inch photos and 2 small photos.

GORGEOUS FALL SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

A school field trip to the pumpkin patch was documented in this layout. I cut strips about 2 inches wide and made them into banners. This was quick and easy to put together and so simple to replicate.

WHAT TO SCRAPBOOK IN THE SUMMER?

There are many prime topics for summer scrapbooking besides vacation. If you think about it, summer is filled with photo opportunities.

Here are some summer scrapbooking ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

• Growing a garden: Take pictures of your garden’s progress, pictures of kids helping in the garden, etc.
• Eating fresh watermelon makes a fun layout. I have some adorable pictures of one of my girls eating watermelon as a toddler!
• Swimming, swimming and swimming. Pictures of kids swimming are also some of my favorite layouts. They always look so happy!
• Trips to the lake. Take pictures of the process of getting the boat in the lake, kids asleep on the boat, driver of the boat, people tubing or skiing.
• Yard games…if you play cornhole, horseshoes, or other outdoor games, be sure to snap some pictures.
• 4th of July falls in the summer, and who can resist those red, white, and blue layouts?
• Catching fireflies would make a sweet layout.
• Trips to the zoo make fun layouts.
• Regular trips to the park can still make precious layouts.
• Grilling out layouts is a good way to incorporate Dad into more layouts.
• Eating snow cones can be a colorful layout opportunity.
• Fishing is always a good summer activity. Snag pics of baiting the hook and reeling the fish in.
• Document your yard sale!
• Bike rides are a common occurrence in the summer and make great pages.
