MOSAIC MOMENTS SCRAPBOOK TRAVEL LAYOUT COVER PAGE

I looked through the pattern books and didn’t find exactly what I was looking for. I wanted there to be a 4×6 photo in the center of the page and words along the bottom.

So, I created this Mosaic Moments layout using ideas from several different patterns. The outcome was just what I was wanting!

SUPPLIES USED

I used several different patterned papers on this layout. They are all from the Simple Stories Here & There collection.

The cardstock base was the Frishermans Wharf grid paper.

Here are the dies used on this layout:

• 1 inch squares
• Basic Dies Set A
• Basic Dies Set C
• Basic Dies Set E
• 2×2 Heart die
• 1×1 Heart die

TIPS

There was one area of the layout I would change if I did it over again. I think the word SCOTLAND would have been better if it had been cut out of a dark solid color. The letters don’t show up as well as I would like with the patterned floral paper.

Remember, the heart dies need paper underneath or the grid paper will show through the heart.

Have fun with your layouts and get creative by laying the dies out on the grid paper to see how the layout will look. It is your layout and you can do what you want!

MOSAIC MOMENTS X FACTOR SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

I have been working on scrapbooking a recent trip to Scotland and am doing the whole album with Mosaic Moments layouts. It is a time-consuming project because each layout takes a while to complete. But it has been fun.

I will be sharing a lot of layouts as I go along so stay tuned! Luckily I have gotten all of my Mosaic Moments dies organized and it was easy to find the dies I needed.

I used Beachgrass grid paper as the base for my layout.

X FACTOR DIES USED

If you are familiar with Mosaic Moments then you know there are a lot of X Factor dies. It is a great and very versatile set of dies.

Here are the dies used on this X factor scrapbook layout:

• X Factor 4×6
• X Factor 4×4
• X Factor 2×2
• Basic Die Set A
• Basic Die Set B

X FACTOR SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT DETAILS

One reason I loved this layout is beause I can utilize 4×6 photos. This layout has 2 4×6 photos and 2 4×4 photos.

I used Pattern #378 for this scrapbook layout.

The floral pattern paper is Authentique Saucy Five. The coral solid is SEI cardstock. These papers were both from my stash of random paper that I have had for years.

I love using the double-sided adhesive sheets when I am cutting dies with thin edges. It makes getting the layout done so much quicker.

If you are a true fan of Mosaic Moments, you will accumulate a lot of dies over the years. I am kind of OCD about keeping my dies organized so I can find what I am looking for.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN ORGANIZING DIES

Everyone organizes their craft supplies in their own way. I will show you how I do it, but please realize that this method may not work best for you.

Some of the things that were important to me when coming up with an organization method were:

• Portable: I wanted the dies to be portable because I take them with me to crops outside of my home.
• Secure: I don’t like the dies moving around. I want them to be secure. This preference made my other methods fail.
• Ability to Grow: I am honest with myself and I know I will be buying more dies as they release new dies. My method to organize Mosaic Moments dies needed to be something I could add more dies to easily.

You will need to think about what is important to you when it comes to storing dies.

HOW TO ORGANIZE MOSAIC MOMENTS DIES

I love to save money. Getting a deal is a fun high for me. Unfortunately, I tried going the inexpensive route when I first started collecting Mosaic Moments dies.

I put them on magnetic sheets I ordered off Amazon and slipped them into page protectors. The magnetic sheets weren’t strong enough to hold the dies, so they slipped off and fell off the magnetic sheet. Overall, the system did not work for me. I found myself not using my dies as often because I hated that feeling of disorganization.

ANNA GRIFFIN DIE BINDERS

Then, I was introduced to Anna Griffin. Her products are gorgeous, but the price tag is high. I ordered one Die Binder to try it out and was HOOKED. The binder itself is beautiful, very well-made, and strong. Then you move on to the magnetic sheets. BLOWN AWAY. These sheets are SO STRONG—the strongest I have ever held in my hand. The hard plastic pages that the magnetic sheets go in are also awesome and sturdy.

I love the size of the binder. It is 11.5″x10″x2″, and the sheets can almost always fit all the dies from one Mosaic Moments set on one page.

My label maker creates a name label for the front of the magnetic sheet. I also store the original die package in the backside of each pocket so I can check the die dimensions if needed.

Right now I have 3 binders that hold my MM dies. But I need a 4th binder! I will tell you that these binders are HEAVY because of how good the magnetic sheets are.

MOSAIC MOMENTS TRAVEL LAYOUTS

When I started looking through my scrapbooks, I was surprised how many Mosaic Moments layouts I had actually completed over the years. I admit these layouts take me a lot longer to complete, but the outcome is worth the effort! My husband is always impressed when I show him my MM layouts.

QUARTER PIE LAYOUT

I used the Quarter Pie Adventure Level Die set to make this layout. This layout was from our trip to Kauai, Hawaii a few years ago. We went tubing in an old sugar plantation irrigation system canal. It was so fun! I used the military green grid paper.

LARGE GRID LAYOUT

I had been wanting to try doing a big grid layout and this was the first one I did. It made a perfect cover page for our Alaskan Cruise trip. This was made from pattern 227. I did slightly tweak the pattern to work for my title. I will tell you a secret. The grid was made from a bunch of similar 4×6 photos that I cut to fit. It isn’t a huge printed image that I cut.

EMBELLISHED MOSAIC MOMENTS TRAVEL LAYOUT

It can be hard to find ways to embellish Mosaic Moments scrapbook layouts. They look so good on their own! But sometimes it fits to add to them. I couldn’t figure out what pattern I used for this layout. Sorry! I did add wooden embellishments to this layout.

MOSAIC MOMENTS PATTERN 213 LAYOUT

This Mosaic Moments travel layout is made from pattern 213. I used the strip die for the top corners. I added journaling to the center box.

ARCH DIE SET LAYOUT

I used the arch die set as the focal point of this layout. I am not sure if I followed on of the patterns or not. Honestly, I don’t love this layout, but it is because of the patterned paper I chose. It seems too busy for me. I used the Bleached Wood grid paper.

STRIP & CHEVRON DIE LAYOUT

This layout features the strip die and the chevron die. It was made from pattern 192. I was able to incorporate plenty of scenery photos into this one layout.

MOSAIC MOMENTS HORIZON DIE LAYOUT

I love the look of the big circle you can get using the Horizon Die. This makes pictures of scenery so much more fun! It was a great way to feature my Hawaii beach photos.

PATTERN 349 LAYOUT

I love pattern 249 for featuring larger images. Not every picture can be cut way down without loosing the essence of the picture. I loved adding the grid for the page title.

PATTERN 127 LAYOUT

This is another good layout for larger pictures. I love how the grid outlines the images in a cool way. I added wood sea-themed embellishments to the center of each grid square. It gives the layout some nice dimension.

CLOVER DIE SET LAYOUT

The clover die set makes really cute layouts. I used the Canterbury border to outline the photos along the outsides. You can see from the picture that one of my corners wasn’t glued on exactly right!! Luckily, I am not a perfectionist.
