Scrapbook Layout Ideas Using One Photo
Scrapbook layout ideas using one photo can be challenging. You want some white space, but not too much. If you have special photos that you want to be the center of attention on your layout then check out these ideas.

WHY USE ONLY ONE PHOTO ON A SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT?
When I started scrapbooking over 23 years ago, I never put only ONE photo on a layout. I always wanted to cram as many photos on the layout as I could. But over time, my techniques have changed and evolved.
Now I do a mixture of all sorts of layouts. I actually enjoy coming up with scrapbook layout ideas using one photo. This isn’t something I do all the time or I would never finish albums, LOL. But when I have pictures that are special I will make them the centerpoint of my layout.
Here are some photo examples of when I will use just one photo on a scrapbook layout:
- Professional photography photos–school pictures, family pictures, etc.
- Special events
- Sometimes I only have one photo to remember an event or a moment in time
- Funny photos
- Silly photos
- Photos that require extra space for lots of journaling
SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT IDEAS USING ONE PHOTO
I am sharing 12 single page layouts where I used only ONE photo on the layout. Many of these were created years ago and unfortunately, I probably don’t recall what line of papers were used. I will give as many details about how I created the layout as I can!
CHUNKY MONKEY SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
My youngest daughter was such a little chunky monkey as a baby. This layout only needed ONE picture because this picture said it all!
The monkey was a die cut with wiggly eyes glued on. I used Thickers for my title, but swapped out the K’s for yellow ones to give it some contrast.

I LOVE AUTUMN LAYOUT
This sweet picture felt like it needed to be the only one on the page. I used my Cricut to cut out the floral and light blue polka dot paper. My Creative Memories cutting system was used to cut my photo into a circle.

FAMILY FLORAL SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
This family photo was the feature of a family blessings layout. Big flowers are die-cuts with buttons in the centers. The words “family” and “love” were made with Thickers. The background cardstock was a wood-like paper.

CUPCAKES LAYOUT
My daughter and her friend sold cupcakes at school as part of their Business Professionals of America club at the high school. I really only had one picture of this event because I couldn’t be there to take pictures myself! The hot pink floral circle is actually a paper doily. I used scraps from different paper lines cut into different lengths and sizes.

WINTER ONE PHOTO SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
This is a more recent layout from a trip to Austria last December. I made the big snowflake circular frame from an SVG cut on my Cricut. Some bling was added to the center of each snowflake. Then I embellished with stickers from a paper pack.

SMITTEN ROMANCE SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
This layout was also from the same Austria trip. I used paper from a Valentine’s themed paper collection. We didn’t have a ton of photos of US from the trip since we were alone and it was either selfies or asking strangers to take our picture, LOL. So I wanted to make the pictures I had of us the center of attention.

DREAMER ONE PHOTO SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
I used an 8×10 school picture for this layout. It only took a few minutes to make this layout. I matted the photo on a coordinating color of cardstock. Then I embellished using die cuts from a paper collection set.

GORGEOUS ONE PHOTO LAYOUT
I like to complete each school year album with my child’s Spring picture. This one included a journaling box to summarize the year. The word “gorgeous” was a chipboard glittery word from my embellishment drawer.

SPELLING BEE LAYOUT
This single page spelling bee layout only needed the one photo. I used glittered letter stickers for the title. The paper was from an old school-themed paper pad. The strips are actually pieces of ribbon.

EMMY FLORAL LAYOUT
I love this photo of my youngest. She is so sweet in it. This was a 5×7 inch photo. I cut out her name using my Cricut. I added the key and bling for simple embellishments. It is a simple but elegant layout.

UNIQUELY YOU LAYOUT
This scrapbook layout features basic circles of different sizes. I cut out the blue paper into smaller circles and added Stickles around each one. The photo is 5×7 inches.

GROUP PHOTO LAYOUT
My daughter and her friends made a cute central picture for this layout. There is a little banner in one corner. This wqs a fast and easy layout!
